In addition to Roberta Regional Centres, Fraunhofer IAIS has started so-called Roberta Academies. A Roberta Academy is embedded in a science centre, technical museum or comparable extracurricular learning location. Each Roberta Academy offers, on a regular basis, Roberta taster courses for schools in its region. Thus, interested teachers can try out Roberta and investigate whether the Roberta concept is suitable to be implemented at their school in a project week or in the curriculum. In April 2009, the first Roberta Academy was opened at the Odysseum (Cologne).
